One-Man Show

Hi there! My name is Karl Francisco Fernandes, and I'm a 22-year old web developer living in sunny Goa, India. I love making beautiful websites, and I currently work for DotAhead.
In the short time that I've been working professionally, I was voted as winner by Unique CSS in their monthly design showdown for September 2009; I've been featured numerous times in Smashing Magazine; and mesonprojekt has appeared on countless other design blogs and CSS galleries. Read more from my Showcase.

Need a web developer for your next project? I'm your man! But don't just take my word for it: have a look at my portfolio. Plus, I follow a religious work ethic, and I'm passionate about what I do. Sorry, I'm not taking any new projects as of now.

They say all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. But I guess nobody ever asked them what happens if work becomes play. Since I can now consider making websites working, I am living my dream. But in my “free” time; I love listening to music, reading books, watching movies, spending time with my leading lady, blogging and playing football. I am also an avid amateur photographer who loves nature.

About mesonprojekt.com

Circa January 2008, mesonprojekt first went online as a portfolio of my design work in college. The very first incarnations were created using plain XHTML-CSS and then later, hand-coded PHP-MySQL. mesonprojekt has evolved since then, not just in form, but also in function.

As of today, it runs on Textpattern and sports a custom retro look. It has been crafted entirely with the Adobe Creative Suite. Other tools currently in use are a large number of Textpattern plugins, Cufón and the like. Version 1 is called “Flaming June”, after the BT track. It took two months to design, and has been around since August 2009. This is currently v1.1, with minor updates having been made in February 2010.

Uh, what does mesonprojekt mean?

To be honest, I don't have the slightest idea! It was just the geekiest name I could come up with in half-an-hour's time. It is also my Internet alias.
